This floors boards were all cupped, the initial drum sanding along the boards left zebra stripes. This required extra sanding horizontally across the boards, diagonally and lastly along the boards with the grain again to give a  smoothed surface to work on.  

All of the gaps were filled with Pallmann Filler and the 120 grit (fine) sawdust from the last sanding pass. once dried a hand sander was used to clean up the excess filler then the sealer Pallmann 345 was added to give the top coat a good base to help bonding. Once dry the next day Pallmann x98 a two part compound lacquer was added in semi gloss.  Pallmann x98 is made for very high traffic areas as it is really durable. A perfect match for hallways and commercial areas. 

This sports hall is part of a soon to be opened nursery. The floor was over 100 years old and required a lot of work after years of the building being left empty. There were lots of water damage marks and a couple of areas with popped boards due to expansion. 

The customer wanted to keep the history of the floor so the old repairs were left in place. It certainly gave the floor character. Using trusted Pallmann products the floor was sealed  and x98 was used for its durability and none slip strengths. 

This hardwood natural solid wood Oak herringbone hall floor showed so much potential. This customer has this flooring throughout his living areas downstairs. I really hope I am invited back to restore the other floors.

It was an absolute pleasure to restore this floor. The natural oak came up so crisp using the Pallmann x98 two component lacquer. The gaps were filled with filler and the fine sawdust form the 120 final sanding to keep the deep colours uniform. Palllmann 355 sealer was used prior to the x98 finish leaving a silky smooth, deep finish on the gorgeous floor.
